Take your spine for a walk!
With the weather warming up, drying up, and the days getting longer it’s time to get out there and take your spine for a walk! We all know that walking regularly can help you manage your weight and increase stamina, fitness, and metabolism … but what can it do for your spine? ·When you walk you move all 24 moveable vertebra in your spine from your head to your hips!
·The discs in between your vertebra don't have a blood supply, and rely on movement to receive nutrients to keep them healthy and supple to absorb the everyday stresses on your spine.
·Because walking is load bearing, it strengthens your ligaments, and tones and strengthens all the small muscles that connect each vertebra. Weight bearing exercise also strengthen your bones and reduce your risk of low bone density.
·It helps to build up a thing called “proprioception” which is the largest component of your nervous system. Walking strengthens your nervous system by improving your balance.
Don't forget, its important to go for a short walk after each adjustment before you hop back into the car to help your adjustment settle.
Walk tall to maintain your spinal curves as you walk! Express your best potential
